Jack Pumphret is a sound artist with a passion for music production and audio engineering. In those fields, he is interested in examining the border between natural and synthetic sounds and how they can inform or distort the listener’s idea of an environment when combined. He is researching gonzo journalism as well as the ways trance-like states can exhume spirituality and provide catharsis for people, especially in regards to dance music. He is currently focused on broadening the scope of Abject Dances Radio, hosting DIY shows in Boston, and forming a music production collective.
