During the summer of 2019, I found myself connecting with and existing alongside nature further than I ever had previously. Through this process of understanding my place as a coinhabitant of the Earth, I became quite wary of the role that I played then and must continue to play in its preservation. I witnessed some of my favorite places in the world - places I had played in as a kid and missed so dearly while at college - being overtaken and impinged upon by the industrial world. I decided at this time that - alongside my efforts to cut back on my own contributions to the deterioration of the environment - I would construct soundscapes that would serve as personal reminders of my favorite natural places in the world and what they mean to me, but hopefully never what they meant.
